The cat’s name in the hocus pocus Hocus Pocus, a 1993 comedy fantasy film about the Sanderson Sisters, a coven of witches who return to the present to wreak havoc once more, is a favorite of ours.
We thought Thackery Binx, a young man doomed to live inside a black cat, was the best part of it. We refer to him as “cursed,” although he was the star of the show.
Although there is a black cat in the follow-up Hocus Pocus 2, Thackery doesn’t seem to be returning. This new feline instead goes by a different name.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, filmmaker Anne Fletcher stated, “That’s Cobweb!” (opens in new tab). The Sanderson Sisters’ former residence, now known as the Salem Magic Shoppe, is where Cobweb will live alongside the new character Gilbert (played by Sam Richardson).
The voice of Thackery in cat form was given by actor Jason Marsden, although he is not currently scheduled to return. But secret casting shocks have happened before, so it wouldn’t exactly surprise us if this is a tried-and-true bait-and-switch. The cat’s name in the hocus pocus
On the surface, though, it appears that Cobweb will be a completely different breed. First off, it doesn’t appear that Cobweb will be able to speak because Fletcher stressed there would be “no talking cats” this time. Once more, we wouldn’t be shocked if there was more to this than meets the eye.
Cobweb might not have a significant part in this movie and their appearance is just a tribute to the original. But given how well-liked Thackery was,
Binx the cat is who?
One of the three protagonists of Hocus Pocus is Thackery Binx. Early in the movie, he was changed into an immortal black cat. He observes himself becoming sentimental for Dani Dennison throughout the movie.
Are Salem and Binx the same cat?
The resident cursed colonial teen from the Hocus Pocus film, Thackery Binx, may be everyone’s favorite black cat and perhaps more well-known than Salem, Sabrina the teenage witch’s cat. Binx probably wouldn’t return given his happy ending, which brought him and his sister Emily back together.
