The abundant rodents likely attracted wild felines into human societies. The cats’ skill in killing them may have caught the eye of humans first. the first Egyptians worshiped a cat goddess and even mummified their stuffed pets on their journey to the subsequent world – among mummified mice! Cultures round the world later adopted cats as their companions.

Like their wild relatives, domestic cats are natural hunters who are able to chase prey and pounce with sharp claws and teeth. they’re particularly effective in the dead of night, when their reflective eyes allow them to work out better than much of their prey. Cats even have acute hearing. All cats are smart and agile, and their long tails help with their great balance.domestic cat

Communication

Cats communicate by marking trees, fence posts, or furniture with their claws or droppings. These scent posts are intended to tell others of the range of domestic cats. Domestic cats use a vocal repertoire that ranges from purr to squeak.

diet

Domestic cats remain largely carnivores, and have developed simple intestines suitable for meat. They also keep a bristly tongue which may help them clean all bite of an animal’s bone (and the groom themselves). Their diets vary in keeping with the whims of humans, however, they’ll be complemented by the cats’ hunting successes.
